Networking problem

I have a wireless card in my desktop in order to share an interent connection with a laptop. The primary connection to the internet is on the desktop

For some reason, when i enable the wireless connection, it seems to overide the ADSL connection, bluffing the desktop into believing that its the connection to the internet.

I may not be making myself too clear here, but i'm in no way techy when it comes to networking.

Any ideas what settings i need to change to make them work in tandem allowing both pc's to connect to the internet ?

Thanks

Stu

I presume you are trying to use internet connection sharing in windows? If so you would be better off getting a router such as the netgear DG834G(T) which will take care of the sharing for you...

By that comment I take it you have an onboard NIC?

If that's the case, you can buy an ethernet card which you can fit into a spare PCI slot for about £5.
