Networking 2 machines, XP and WIN2K, Crossover Cable - help!

Hi people.

Right I want to set up my broadband on the 2k machine, which will always be on. Im going to take a crossover cable from this, to the XP machine, so that I can have Internet access on the XP machine when its turned on.

Can somebody please give me some tips or pointers which i need to be doing. Does Win2k have an ICS feature?

They will both be on the same workgroup, called WORKGROUP.

What do i need to do and look out for?

Thanks a lot

Win2k does have ICS.

Turn off basic sharing crap on XP. You want full sharing mode.

Make sure both PC's are on same workgroup as youve already said.

Make sure both PC's are in same IP range.. ie 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2.

Should be pretty simple other than that.. probably may want to disable any firewalls to begin with to make connection easier.
