My New PC Setup..

Your hard disks are way too small. I'd get 600 to 800GB or you'll be running out.

I would recommend using a ASUS A8n -Sli mobo, that way if you do want to use 2 gfx cards in the future, you dont have to buy a new mobo. ebuyer do them at about £85.
I am using one at the mo, and not had a single problem yet, although I have only had it for about a week!

indeed SLi it up, so that its future proof,. also get a larger disk than 80 lol. you will be surprised how fast they fill up... try to get an SATA300 disk , cos they are a lot nicer than anything else at the moment.. check tomshardware.com or bit-tech.net for some nice reviews of current gfx cards to see which would suit you the best

Oh yeah, and I would get the 3500+ CPU as I think its only £7 more on ebuyer.
Not bad value for money considering the next jump up is about £30 more.

I have 80GB drive for app's and games
and a 160GB for storing things

That is plently

and that graphics card is probably the best you can get for your money because you can unlock it to 16 pipelines, flash the bios http://www.techpowerup.com/articles//overclocking/vidcard/127/1
and then overclock a bit.

oh 2 graphics card might depends if I can muster up anymore money.

Do you recommend any changes?

Get 2GB of RAM instead, take a look at the Geil set ~ £135 or slightly better the Corsair twinx set ~ £180

See if you can find the X800 GTO2, it has the same core as the X850XT's and should clock well.

Change your DVDRW to a NEC ND4550, i have found Sony DVD's to be a little on the noisy side compared to others.

If you want 120mm fans try Akasa ambers, i think the ones you have selected will be very noisy

PSU - have you looked at the Hipers? They are very good. I recommend the 480w Type R Cool

Re: My New PC Setup..

I took your advice on the graphics card but im sticking with the 1GB corsair those are probably the best overclocking ram sticks on the market. i've seen people hit ddr600 speeds stable. average is around ddr550 at 2.5-3-3 or so. it'll overclock as high as the twinx stuff will.

2 gig of slow ram is better than 1 gig of fast ram, but its up to you. check out the OCZ line of ram if you want to over clock stuff.

Yes, i think you will regret not buying 2GB of RAM. Its a must for todays games like BF2 and Fear for an example.

Yes i agree with you paco2k5 i had the sony DVD-RW and it is a little noisy i changed it
for the NEC which is not only quieter but also much faster at spinning
up the disks than the sony too

I also use the Hiper 480w Type R PSU and its an absolute peach
i can highly recommend you use that one

Go for the 2gig of ram its a must and larger sata drives

I can always buy more fast ram, and also I've heard there have been issues with having 2GB ram and BF2

With the RAM, I did have just the 1gb, and BF2 was taking quite a while to load up when playing multiplayer, and it would take forever to stop stop stuttering when I first joined a game. I upped it to 1.5gb and it sorted out that issue instantly, now I can apply to be commander when the map first loads..woohoo!!
GET MORE RAM YOU WONT REGRET IT!
