Motherboard and RIMM

Help is needed please.

I currently have got ASUSP4T533-C board with 2 x 256 (184) RIMM and 2 x128(184) RIMM. I have just brought 2 x 512 (184) RIMM as an improvment to my system.

Looking into this matter I notice that my system only shows 512 (RIMM) and therefore not using the other 2 sticks (2 x 128 i guess).

When putting in my new memory the system doesnt boot up.

Any ideas, I thought is that my board my need flashing with new info. Never done this before (if this is the case is it tricky).

ASUS site states that my board can take up to 2Gb so hopefully that not the issue. The memory complies with what ASUS like ie Samsung 512/16 eec.

Any idea will be greatly recieved.

Thanks in advance

Jason

Motherboard and RIMM

I have flashed my motherboard with a later bois to enable 16 eec. I do get an error message, once I have taken the 'new' memory out.

System hung improper frequency combination. Any ideas.

Do you have to alter jumpers Huh!!! I am unsure.

Thanks

Just search for the error you get in google to find loads of hits. ASUS mobos do suffer from this problem if the BIOS is not set properly or has got corrupted in some way.
