Linux newbie guide

Hi,

After 7 years of supporting and using M$ based software, I'm starting to get my head around Linux (RH Fedora Core1). I can install it with no problem and set up users etc, but I'm struggling to get to my head round the more complicated stuff like setting up my PATHs etc and configuring Apache.

Can anyone recommend and good basic/intermediate guide as most of the HOW-TOs seem to assume that I know what I'm doing

Although, I always found that the best way to learn was to play about, and if it broke, to fix it Smiley

Oh I've already broken it loads of times  I'm on my 3rd rebuild in 4 days! My main problem is not knowing how to fix the problems, for example, If I get a disk error under W32 I know what tools to use to fix it, but under Linux I've not got a clue.......
