Linksys@Home HG 200 ADSL Wireless Modem MSN Messenger Setup

Hi folks

Please can someone help me out. I have just purchased a Linksys@Home HG 200 Wireless Modem Router from Tesco.

Everything is working fine however I can not get MSN Messenger to work 100%. At the moment I am unable to do file transfers and use my webcam.

I am unsure what I can do to get this to work.

I have a plus account.

Has anyone else had difficulties? Please let me know the required settings?

Cheers

Allan

You say it is working fine. Do you mean you can access websites and send receive email? If so the router is probably set up fine. Do you have a firewall program running? It may be blocking certain programs from accessing the internet. Find the appropriate section in the firewall settings and you should be able to alter the permissions for each program you want to use.

I could be wrong (certainly not the first time) but I'm sure I read somewhere in the past that some routers (certain type) needs ports opening...

Something like this :

Failing that scan through MSN's not so easy to find help :

Good Luck.

Enable UPnP on your router and your PC and that should solve your problem.

MSN is a right pain to manually configure and will often not work unless you use UPnP.
