I can never understand why oems put stupidly slow 5400 rpm hard disks in laptops. It's not as if 7,200 or even 10,000 rpm units aren't available.

No matter what sort of cpu you put in, ur speeds always suck.

Super super bit of kit Liam.

Have played with several (dont tell the eu's) and they are cool.

What really impressed me was the sharpness and clarity of the screens. Really came into their own when playing DVD's. As close to Plasma as LCD can get.

Performance, looks and quality.

Enjoy.

Dear Liam Martin,

The following items have been dispatched for delivery and should be with you on your chosen delivery date (Fri 23rd Sep 2005)

1 x Acer Ferrari 4005WLMi AMD Turion ML37 2.0GHz 100GB 1GB DVD-SuperMulti WLAN Bluetooth XP Pro + 5 in 1 Card Reader XP Pro
1 x Acer Advantage 3 years Collect & Return Warranty U/G Inc Accident Cover

By the way, Mark. Would you say it was a good idea to go for the Acer extra warranty. For the extra £100, I thought it was worth it... especially with the Accidental Damage... because I am a bit clumsy.

Sweet man - health to enjoy (granny always said that).

Personally - and this is only a personal opinion mind - i HATE insurance, the way i look at it is if i break it "tough titty", i should have been more careful, that hundred squid could get me real drunk dude.
But as i said, personal opinion - dont pay any attention to me dude.

I have a real bad habit of having to learn things the hard way Smiley

The extra warranty is probably a good idea.

Some of the Aspire range have suffered drive problems and dodgy dvdrw drives.

Whilst I have not seen a single Ferrari be RTB'd it is always a possiblity.

Unlike the likes of the PC world insurance offerings, The Acer warranty is comprehensive and imho worth the extra.

just as a matter of interest, Sony Vaio's are expenfis - are those things any good. cos i was helpin me mate choose, and we went for a toshiba instead of a Vaio, simply cos the specs were alot higher on the toshiba - we were on a budget of around £700 squid

Hi jabb0,

My granny said that too. Smiley

Sony's are pricey but very reliable. Some of the company execs that we supply would have nothing else, but I reckon thats for pose value. Smiley

The Toshibas are also known to be good quality kit and if you can buy them at the right price, even better.

I reckon your mate has made a good call. Fujitsu Seimens kit is also worth looking at. Quality, price and support are all excellent and at the minute I find them hard to beat.
