IE problem through network connection

Baffling IE problem, I have a home wirless network with 2 pcs and a laptop.

the main pc is configured to use ICS on the wan adapter (ADSL PCI card),
and has a network pci card using address 192.168.0.1 with plusnet dna servers.

the laptop and pc are setup essentially the same at 192.168.0.2 & 3.

laptop (.3) works fine at everything including ie using lan connection.
pc (.2) everything works except IE ( i can ping ww.bbc.co.uk etc.) not a dns problem.
below is the ipconfig details of all 3 machines.

Anyone got any ideas Huh? - this is driving me nuts !

IE problem through network connection

It would help if we knew what the ie problem is all you say is its an IE problem.

Does it load ok but cant find any sites or is it trying to dial up?

IE problem through network connection

Thanks for the reply

IE won't display any pages gets the error 'as if' its a dns problem.
All other network facilities work e.g. msg, email , ping net view etc.
It is not trying to dial - set to never dial.
the lan setting are empty ( or detect auto ) makes no diference.

Essentially as I said the 2 'clients' are set up the same , very frustrating. They are using IE6.

I am thinking of resorting to installed proxyplus but unless I know the cause don't know whether it will fix it.

Any further thoughts welcome - I am at a stop.

Check the IE connection and proxy settings on the problem system.
Are they the same as the one that works OK?

yes as previously explained they are as far as i can see identical.
i.e. no proxy setting and detect on or off dosen't matter

You say you get and error as though its dns what exactly is the error?

Can you load htm files ok from the hard disk?

Have you tried windows update to see if there are any updates?

If its worked in the past try a role back there was a update that caused problems but its was fixed with yet another update
