File mixing

I have several folders each containing many photo's. Burning a folder to a CD-R is fine with the files in their correct order. Burning any more folders mixes the files in with the first lot & not after them. Is there any way of indexing or numbering to keep all files in the correct order?
I am using the (a),(aa),(ab),(ac) etc, system for the files.
Thank you.

So you burn one lot to CD-R with an open session, then burn a second lot on the same CD-R, but want them to appear in order?

CD-R is a once only burn, so you can't change what is there already, only add to it subject to the space remaining. If you want to put lots of folders together then burn them all in one go or use CD-RW which can be overwritten on a second burn.

The best option is to copy the folder containing the photos rather than simply the photos themselves to the disc. That way they will be stored on the disc in their individual folders rather than mixed in together.

Thanks Denzil & Gswindale--------copying the photo folders to disc kept files in correct order but the folders in alphabetical order only not the order as copied.
