DivX Problems

I have two computers that I want to be able to play DivX movies. My computer can play them fine, my sister's computer will not. They are both XP Pro SP1A.

On her computer, when playing a movie, all that can be seen are a few sloping lines. Unfortunately I can't get a screenshot. The machine is a 500MHz Celeron, 3dfx Voodoo 3 3500 16Mb, 320Mb RAM.

Both machines have the same version of DivX installed

Thanks,
Mike

DivX Problems

Hi

Which version of DivX have you installed?

Have you ever tried using Nimo Codec pack?

It has all the best codec files for playing DivX, Mpegs etc.

Try and find Nimo Codec Pack 5.0 Build 7.exe on the net (avoid Build 8, never seems to work properly)

Good luck

DivX Problems

I've installed DivX 5.11 and I already had Nimo Build 9 Beta 1.

With both build 7 and build 9, some movies tend to just stick after 10 seconds and this happens on both PCs now.

DivX Problems

Just to update...

it is now working on both computers, however, on the 500MHz Celeron playback of a certain 1.3Gb file is very slow and will only play in the DivX player (WMP and WinAMP won't play it at all).

In control panel- Display-Settings-Advanced-Troubleshoot,
check if hardware acceleration is enabled and perhaps
increase or adjust this setting and see if that makes any
difference.
