Hi, Samsung or my pc instructed me to change DMA mode to PIO, so I could download an updated driver for the DVD, which I have done.Can any one tell me please if I have to change back to DMA mode.

You dont say what O/S or if you mean the bios.

But most modern disks and dvds should be running with dma

Thank's for the quick reply, I have a modern PC, 18 months old, running XP on an Athlon XP 1800, 512 RAM, The motherboard is a ECS model K7S5A {1}
The Transfer Mode was changed by going to device manager /IDE/ATAPI / con-trollers right click properties and then advanced settings tab.CDrw (sw224b)
and DVD (sd616f) are working as normal. I hope this helps and thanks for your time John.
