Backup

I have just bought a maxtor one touch external disk that comes with Dantz Retrospective backup and I don't seem to be able to get it to do what I want. That is just backup up a couple of directories, can anyone recomend some easy to use backup software?

NTI Backup Now! 3.

Supports full, incremental and differential backups to disk, CR-ROM and DVD and network. You can also create scheduled backups and with the Delux version, you also get NTI Drive Backup 3.0 for full system backup and restore. It has a 30 day trial so you can try before you buy.

I've used it for the past 18 months to backup my home network (to a spare disk) without any problems and have used the restore feature to good effect.

Thanks for that one Peter.

Is there anything bad about the one that comes with 2K?

No idea, never had Win2K.

Windows 2000 Backup is OK-ish. Although, I think even Microsoft recommend 3rd party software if the data is important.

If all you want to do is just back up a couple of directories, you might want to look at a free (and dead simple) one which I've used for ages to back up to a second drive and never had a problem with:
