Auto changing Gateway

I have two ADSL lines, one with Plusnet, and another with a different ISP. Each line has its own modem/router and obviously I have set two different Gateway IP addresses as both routers sit on my internal home network. Therefore any network PC can connect to either ISP by changing the PC Gateway address.

Due to the restrictions I have in using Plusnet between 16:00 and 23:59, being peak time usage, I would like to automatically change the Gateway address of one of the network PC's from the router pointing to Plusnet, to the router connected to my other ISP during Plusnets peak time period.

I have trawled high and low for an app. to do this but so far drawn a blank. I would write my own but my in depth knowledge of the innards of WinXP is a bit sparse.

I cannot see a technical problem with this as obviously I can change the PC over manually. The PC in question is running under WindozeXP.

Any pointers would be gratefully received.

Auto changing Gateway

Easy. Create a batch file that looks something like this:

route add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 <ip of decent ISP router (not Plusnet)>

Schedule this using Task Scheduler (Control Panel) to run when you want to switch to your decent ISP.

Create a second batch file:

route add 0.0.0.0 mask 0.0.0.0 <Plusnet router IP>

Schedule this to run when you want it to revert to Plusnet.

Something like this will work. Tweak as appropriate....
