Athlon advice

Hello,

Hopefully a nice easy one for you Smiley

I have an Ahlon XP2400+ processor. It has a FSB of 266MHz.

If I go out and buy a spanking new Motherboard (My old one is playing up - typical!) and it states it takes Athlons with a FSB of 333MHz, will my Athlon still work ok, but just at the slower FSB speed?

I am thinking yes, but trying to get a "real" reply before I spend my cash from a motherboard manufacturers help desk is nigh-on impossible!

If anyone's interested, I'm thinking of buying the AOpen AK79G Max and doing away will my huge array of PCI cards!!!! It's getting some good reviews and has everything I want!!!

All advice greatly received Smiley

Cheers all!

Tim.

The genral advice is yes, in most cases.

HOwever, the best thing you can do, is download the PDF manual from the makers website, this usualy lists all the modes possible.

Sometimes I really should go back to my ZX81 Shockedops:

Just been AOpens site and the 2400+ passed all tests. Cheesy

Thanks for the memory jogger!

Cheers,
Tim.
