Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network Adapter and vista!

it has taken me a whole 24 hrs to connect this thing to an existing network. i thought atheros was a respected product within i.t circles, or should i blame vista, did these companys not have beta versions of longhorn/vista to work with? Evil

Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network Adapter and vista!

There are many many manufactures who do not have drivers for Vista for their products which is one of the major problems with using Vista at this time and also the reason I always recommend using XP.

Also many legacy and even some fairly new products don't have vista drivers and never will.

I work in IT and have never heard of Atheros. They appear to be a US company so maybe they have a market there.

For anyone having problems getting vista drivers try

http://www.radarsync.com/vista/

They have most of the drivers and do have all the Atheros at
http://www.radarsync.com/vista/index.php?vendor=Atheros

worth making a note of the page if your getting vista

Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network Adapter and vista!

As far as I am aware Atheros is the chip maker for PCMCIA cards. I had one just recently made by belkin which was detected by netstumbler as being an atheros card. Incidentally it was totally useless so I took it back and got a D-Link instead (which has been great).

Is this a laptop PCMCIA card? - Desktop PCI? - Please provide more details.
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
