Apache WinXP

I have downloaded just about all the installers for winlamp i can find, and upon each installation there is a problem... Apache will not install as a service, which is a real pain having to run it every time i want to develop some code.

I have disabled Norton, uninstalled Norton, disbaled winXP's firewall... nothing, natta, zip, Apache willnot install as a ruddy service.

I think rather than wasting morre time trying to get to the bottom of this, if I could install Apache as a service myself, this would achieve the same result.

Problem is winXP doesnt seem to have a button anywhere that would let me do this.

But i figure that if an installer can do this, i should be able to do it manually... does anyone know how?

That is: How can i manually install Apache as a service?

cheers

Apache WinXP

Dont matter guys, got it sorted.

for anybody wondering how to do it...

open the Command Prompt in Start>Accessories>CommandPrompt

Goto the directory that Apache.exe is in

    type apache -k install
