AMD barton xp3000+

iv just upgraded my cpu to a AMD xp3000+ barton FSB333 MHZ but could any one tell me why it only shows it as a AMD xp2500+ .
if i change the FSB to 400MHZ it now shows it as a AMD xp3200+
i am only running DDR266x 512mb which is slow has the speed of my memory got somthing to do with it.
i am at the moment waiting for DDR400x1gb to turn up
can some one help :?

Yes, you should be running PC-2700 (DDR333) RAM for the 333 FSB Processor. to operate synchronously with the memory.

does that mean that the memory that iv ordered (1024 MB (1GB) PC3200 ddr400) will be to fast for my cpu or i just will not get the full use of the memory

You RAM should run by default at the speed of your CPU. Eg 333 Unless you go into the realm of overclocking.
