Plusnet have stopped carrying the binary groups. Your only recourse is to go to a paid external provider. (see http://portal.plus.net/central/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39767)

Astraweb is good because they have a pay per quantity option (about £15 for 60Gb - no time limit) as an altenative to a monthly charge.

You can get a free account from Yottanews (1GB/Month limit)

No Idea - I've not looked since they supposedly shut them down.

Is it possible that they have the groups on the server, but not the data?

Its most likely that due to those two groups being incorrectly named they were missed by the scripts that purged all of the binaries from our servers.

I've raised this as a problem, so that we can get them dropped from the servers.

No real point in getting a paid news server at the moment as the speeds are so dire through PN , if you can connect at all , its a waste of time ... a bit like PN at the moment ...

annick, you've ruined it for us all! Sad

£15 for 60GB is steep. Usenetmonster is cheaper:

5Gigs - $2.95
10Gigs - $5.95
Unlimited - $19.95

The £15 is a one off payment with no time limit. I anticipate using 1-2GB per month so 60GB will probably last 2-3 years. On Usenetmonster that would cost $70+

Astraweb Unlimited - $15 Wink

Like Elvin I find a fixed price for a chunk of data with no time limit more economical than a monthly plan. Depends on your usage habits.
