traffic shaping test (p2p)

Mods, I would appreciate and reequest that any comments in this thread not directly related to informing on results be brutally deleted from any post, in order to maintain this threads integrity and usefulness, as per my original post. Thanks in advance for anything you might be able to do - Crimsone

Just an idea, with rules.

Could anybody willing to participate please download the torrent here for 10-15 mins..

and without any comment, report your speed and the time you started in a new post in this thread, allong with your account type and your bit torrent client.

purely for reference and control (as with any scientific experiment. lol), this link shows the state of the torrent when this thread was started

Hopefully this will give us an accurate idea of what's truly happening with regards to the shaping over the userbase (yes, even people with good speeds, please join in!)

Mine is currently at 8kb/s down and 9kb/s up, started way more than 15 mins ago (so it doesn't matter what the time was and I can't remember. lol), using the official bittorent client on a premier account.

Using bit comet I was downloading at 60KB\S. It was creeping up and would have expected a bit more if I left it longer (this was after 10 minutes).

Edit - Using the Premier account on a 1mb line.

Using Emule on Premier, uploading at 20k/s solid.

Just restarted Emule to enable kad and it will proabably take a while to start filtering through the queues and start downloading again.

Things are looking good. Shocked

torrent started 23:40 on bittorent original - premier package

now steady at around 7 kb/s up and 30 kb/s down

Unless something spectacular happens to my speed, I don't think it's worth me posting again. Time to just see what's going on with everyone else methinks.

Hi there

I'm on Plusnet Premier Account

I have a 1meg connection

the download started at 12.30am

the client I am using to download is Bit Tornado Version T- 0.37

it started very slowly by about 4 minutes in it went to 4KB/sec

Now 11minutes into the download and it is reaching 50KB/sec with an Upload rate of 16KB/sec

THIS IS A VERY WELL SEEDED TORRENT

I have seen better speeds than that from torrents (if I was on Soulseek now I would be getting 30K/sec which isn't great better than 0.3K/sec but still not much better..........Come on Plusnet pull the finger out and let us have the freedom to download.........even at this ungodly hour

Harry Cry Cry Cry Cry
(maybe some day I will be Cheesy
but probably Plusnet will be like this Cheesy when I leave)

Premier 2Mb with Azureus
07.10 am
shot up to 232kB within a minute and stayed above 200kB with the occasional dip.

I assume you're going to tabulate these results?
