slow speeds & plusnet monitor

Hi all,

Is it just me or is my broadband running a little on the cold side ... looking at plusnet speedtest (http://monitor.plus.net) i am told i am getting 540ish k/s but on ther speedtests i range from 223 (msn and to a max of around 327kb/s.

Is the plusnet test accurate??

I tried the PlusNet speed test the other night and it told me that my speed was nearly 700kb !!! and that I would be able to download at some 80KB
I don't think that is a beleivable figure for normal ADSL link.

i went to that place:

and i got 94.2k.
Then went over to:
http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedtest.asp
Downstream 195 Kbps (24.4 KB/sec) 224 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 106 Kbps (13.3 KB/sec) 121 Kbps (inc. overheads)
which is slightly better but that is after the 2nd attempt cos it wouldnt work first time i waited 5 mins.

Hi All,

We are continuing to receive reports from customers experiencing slow browsing speeds. We are investigating these as a priority although we have yet to isolate the root cause of the problem. The reason for the delay in resolving the problem is that we have built no clear pattern of how the problem affects our customers, this is despite many fault reports being received.

We have ADSL platform upgrade work scheduled for next week which we hope will go a long way to resolving the problems that some of our customers are experiencing.

Further information will be announced at the beginning of next week, along with a schedule of when work will be undertaken.
