relay.plus.net unavaliable

I having problems with relay.plus.net being reported as unavaliable or refusing connections.

Firewall is setup to allow connections from mail program. On each attempt to send the password for the account is refused. The password is working for webmail so it's not the password that is wrong.

The server settings are relay.plus.net and imap.plus.net I can download e-mail but can't send it using this particular account.

Cheers

"relay.plus.net" hardly ever works for me. I change it to "127.0.0.1" and it works fine.

127.0.0.1 is your machine though (commonly known as a loopback)

It is used in this instance, if you have a program running which checks outgoing mail.

If you have a such a program running, then chances are that its blocked mail to all other destinations as a 'security measure'

What AV/AS/Firewalls are you running?

I have been told that on previous occasions.
I disable firewall, mailwasher and anti-virus and use relay.plus.net and my emails are still not delivered, doesn't make a scrap of difference.
