hi
can someone tell me whats going on on 2m line on premier 20-1
so you regrade me to 50-1 per e mail saying you wont notice

im now on 912 kb line
this it totally wrong and if it aint sorted im off i been here 3 years and this is the
thing you do to your members degrade them not regrade

can i have some answers please my pings shot throught the roof as well?

What speed are you connecting at? Are you using a router, USB modem or what?

My regrade came through today, to be honest Ive actually found it a little faster. Must have been a couple of bandwidth hogs on the 20:1 virtual paths.

doing speed tests as asked to by plusnet this morning was normal 2000kbs
but this eveing only 1024kbs second will do another test later tonight ping seems to have shot up 60 ping on average

i play online games and this is the main thing i need down
this all seems to have had effect since i was put on the 50-1 connection prior to 20-1

Have you had a look at the exchange checker - link here? It may well be down to exchange contention.

same problems tonight 100 ping and 600kbs this is crap to be honest you put me on 50-1 and no help
the line was okay until i was put on this new supposed 50-1?

Be thankful they did that.

Last Friday they regraded my line from 20:1 to 50:1, and totally disconnected my phone line. I spent about 3 hours on the phone to Bombay trying to get BT to do something (they refused as it was a weekend and said they would fix it "sometime between Monday and Wednesday. You will be in during that time for our visit, won't you? No we can't tell you when it will be") and another chunk of time on the phone to Plus.Net who told me to complain via the website(!) and there was nothing they could do as their change to my phone line broke the voice part as well so tough.

I was not happy.

Hi there,

We can't really be held respnsible for your phone line. We submitted a regrade order to BT. A BT frames engineer completed the work and by the sounds of things this may have affected your PSTN service. Unfortunately we have never been able to resolve voice telephony faults and this is BT Retail's domain. It's the dame for all ISPs.

@dozer,

If you've been having difficulty getting through to support then check here prior to ringing. Alternatively raise a ticket here.

A few things you can try before hand:

# Follow some of the tips relating to speed faults here.

# Run 3 BT Speedtests, ideally one should be between the hours of 0000 and 0700.

Raise your findings on a ticket and we will investigate for you.

Bob,

Being told that the regrade happened at 4:15pm last friday, which was when the phone went dead, and then being told that you weren't prepared to do anything as it had killed my phone line totally not just ADSL, and then be told "it's just a coincidence" and to complain via the website (which obviously I couldn't do), be told I couldn't speak to a supervisor as he was "busy" and so on you can be responsible for.

It's the first time I've had to speak to customer services, and I can't say I was impressed. The operator had no interest in helping, had no sympathy, and seemed to think I was a moron who didn't know which way round to hold the handset, let alone an ADSL connection.

He needs a public whipping! Seriouly, he told you to complain via the website? I guess Carol was busy tlaking to pr100, wadev or some news site!

Indeed plus have no obligation or responsibility over your phone line that's up to BT i'm afraid but still that's appaling treatment.
