Yes my connection is also slow, performance of a 1mb service when it is supposed to be 2mb. Yesterday downloads of 230kbs+ today very variable with an average of 130kbs. I hope PN have got all of the Premier Customer profiles correct now.

Not sure... but I think you are on the same exchange as me...LCFLW
Having a bad time here with speeds and being messed around with BT blah blah blah.. this has been going on for weeks.

Its definitely a BTw problem because BTw speedtests last night showed

850 kilo bits per second (Kbps),
946 kilo bits per second (Kbps),
885 kilo bits per second (Kbps)
574 kilo bits per second (Kbps),
572 kilo bits per second (Kbps),

Yet BT seemed to insist that it was only me on our exchange complaining of poor speeds.. (down to 272 kbps)... despite my friend also having a complaint via BTYahoo... and the times of these co-inciding.

Slow speed

My exchange was recently enabled so I have moved my connection from my old house to my new house.

My router is showing I am connecting at 2272Kb but my downloads are coming through at best 60Kb (equivalent to a 512kb link) so I'm a little puzzled and as BT have not yet confirmed I have been enabled I cannot as yet complain.

scarratt, as in Burringham Scarratt(s)?

If so, BT did (what I think) an upgrade on our exchange on Tuesday at around 1-2PM, as we was all getting speeds below the 400kbps barrier. I had to connect to BT too, blah blah blah and then I went on Tuesday after been told our lines went down for 20 minutes or so, and I was getting full speeds once again.

I was getting full 2MB up untill yesterday, this morning I got 500kbps and it mainly sticks around 1000kbps - 1600kbps, which is an improvement from the constantly below 400kbps before.

I connected to the BT speed test once again and that was giving me full 2mb, and after conducting more tests to make sure it wasn't a one-off 1800kbps+

Seems it's PlusNet this time, though.. I'll ask some other people who live around here on different ISP's.

Easyman is your ticket still open?
How far did you get with BT?

They told me it must be my own equipment because I was supposedly the only one on my exchange seeing problems. :/

Over the past month every day its dropped to below 1Mb speeds.. the lowest was on 11th July when it was below 400kbps most of the evening... down to 272kbps on the btw speedtester.

Last night I was getting in the 500's on the BTw speedtester... I notice there was a fix due on the 2nd of august but BT swung the exchange back to green before the fix was even made. The previous fix date of the 2nd of July also passed without anything being done.

Can we cross reference Plusnets tickets with each others users names..
Ironically I noticed that pcsni refered to you a post of mine of adslguide when you were complaining of poor speeds on these forums.

Anyone else out there on the Fleetwood exchange seeing the same thing?

Just got that.

Look at the upload speeds.. That was never the problem when it was BT's problem, so I'm kind of guessing it's PlusNet's side now. Others reported crappy upload too, bleh...

Pings seem to be fine too (24-32ms), but when I get on say Battlefield 2, I just experienced 500 ping, on a few servers too... that normally give me 20-30.

Michael Holmes
Customer Support Centre Actioned : Dear Mr Emsley,
Unfortunately we cannot place this as a speed fault with BT as they specify only speeds below 400kbps are faults. As the speeds you are experiencing are all within the minimum specification for the service there is nothing further we can do.

poor speeds

i had exactly the same problem with my account

they have incorrectly put my account on the maxdsl profile and so this was the cause, the snag is it only kikked in at peak times, any other time the speed was fine

raise a ticket and ask them to check - mine was checked today - found to be wrong and then put on the right one! - beware tho it took me a week to get them to sort it

Another note would be that I've been monitoring the bandwidth utilisation on PlusNet's website and my speeds go down around 400kbps during PlusNet's peak times, and up to normal speeds during the morning.

Easyman

I have been keeping very detailed records of the speeds Ive been getting over the past month or so, I wont post them in here, because I dont want to Hijack what was originally scarratt's thread too much. Suffice to say that my speeds exactly match yours within a few kbps for the various times of the day.
