p2p throttled at 10%

Finally found out that p2p is throttled at 10% (I wonder what % emule is throttled at??). The information was from AG so I don't know if this is TRUE

I presume this is off-peak? and during peak times the % rises?Huh

p2p throttled at 10%

P2P is NOT throttled at 10%. I had 4 torrents cruising at 230k/s last night.

p2p throttled at 10%

I assume this is the post ADSL Guide but in fact it states

Peer to peer on premier is is throttled up to a maxium off 10% thats all so its not being throttled to death, its not in breach off the original intent as we have always said we would protect our network. We are not doing any thing to your peer to peer, i my self have a premier acocunt and use peer to peer and have no problems with the service what so ever

p2p throttled at 10%

Hi,

The quote means that the management should reduce speeds by a maximum of 10%, not to 10% of the maximum speed.

Thanks Dave for correcting that Smiley

Is BT and emule throttled at the same rate? IS so, how come emule speeds on average is 10kbs (My speeds never seem to hit 50kbs and if it does it does not last long)

p2p throttled at 10%

It isn't a percentage, and depends on many factors. The agent who said 10% meant that it is shaped by a maximum of 10%, which is a rough figure but may not always be accurate.

geraintmx333 - I'll comfirm that torrents work at 230kbytes/s during off peak.

On peak varies all the time, day to day. anywhere between 30~180k on avg

Mine throttles down to 10% of the maximum speed. I rarely get past 10kB/s and I never get past 20kB/s using Bit torrent. Ugh now im only getting 20kB/s from http.
