index.php

Hi,

For the web site I'm creating my index file contains php script so I'm having to name it index.php and store it on the cgi server, inorder for the php script to be executed.

As you know you put index.html in your webspace and this file is loaded into the browser by default when you visit the site. But, because of the way plusnet set things up, my index file (index.php) is stored on a different machine Sad Is there anyway you can link to this file from my webspace? Or do I have to use a redirect or something?

Thanks

Chris

You could create a small index file in your homepages with the following line in it.

<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="1;url=http://cgi.yoursite.plus.com/filename.htm">

It will then redirect to the CGI file after 1 second.

Hi Chris,

The advice given by John is spot on, in fact it's what I use in my webspace Wink
