if i migrate will i be down graded?

This is something that is puzzling me.
I currently have a 2mb line and i am a bit concerned if i migrate to another company i will be downgraded in speed.
i was thinking of going to znet and they said that things should stay the same as plus net but i explained to them my problem and now they are not sure.
they told me to check with plus net.
When i check my phone number and postcode through their checker it said my line was only capable of 512kb and it is the same with every other broadband checker on the internet.
My post code is eh221qh
So i want to to migrate but i don't want to lose the speed.Especially that much.
Has anyone had any similar problems.Any info would be greatful.
thanks

If your current line speed is 2Mb, then this will not change.

BT have a policy of not medling with lines that are already at a speed, even if the internal database currently says no to such a speed.

It's only if you ever have a fault, that there would be cause fo concern regarding your speed.

Does your modem provide lines statistics?
If so, can you post them.

It may be a case that the BT database simply isn't correct for your line, so the worry may be over nothing anyhow.
