Hi

The IP Profile part of the results there show that BT have put you on a lower profile, possibly due to synchronisation issues.

I've passed the ticket on to be tested by one of the faults guys, and raised to BT.

I'd expect it to be tested and raised either this evening/early tomorrow.

I'm in the office first thing so I'll take a look for you.

Hi there,

I've asked one of our faults agents to test this for you now, although it looks like your profile has been reduced by BT due to a low sync issue. If your previous sync speed has returned the profile should increase within the next 3 days.

If you are losing the connection periodically you probably won't get back up to speed. You need to investigate why you lose the connection.

First step must be to eliminate problems inside your house. Try using the test socket behind the master socket with no other equipment connected - that eliminates any other equipment connected to the phone.

Is there any noise on the line when you use the phone?

Have you checked using a different handset (borrow one you know is OK). Use the BT quiet line test to check: 17070 option 2. Does it get worse in bad weather?

Curing normal line problems (reported to 0800 800151) should improve ADSL - if you do report it, don't mention ADSL.

Edit: Have you seen this post?

hi.

having lost connection for a time yesterday afternoon. i called bt, and today an enginneer came out and replaced my line from the pole to inside the house.

on a sunday! hats s off to bt.
hopefully this cured all. my router is reporting 448/5248, so i hope this will go back up.
thanks for the speedy efforts on pn side.
the only thing left is to alter,if thats up to you,the 500 rate in bb connection sets on this site back to max.

thanks again...im nearly running!

Give it 72 hours, and I'd recommend rebooting the router a couple of times a day - forcing a resync and then the exchange may notice faster that your sync speed is staying constant and reliable at the higher speed. This should up your IP Profile at BT's side - and prompt the change at this end. You can find out what BT are limiting you to at http://speedtester.bt.com
