from 372kbps to 3888kbps in 10mins (at 10:30 pm)

Having suffered speeds less than 200kbps in the evening, I have watched the speeds go from 372kbps to 3888kbps in less than 10 minutes

22:30 - 372
22:32 - 1053
22:38 - 3888

one more test just to prove it

22:44 - 3437

As a comparison.

Date of Speed Test: 2007-02-05 23:02:39
Download Speed: 3338 kbps (417.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 333 kbps (41.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

I'm on 4Mbit PAYG Broadband 12GB.

I've not had any speed problems since switching from Premier to PAYG.

Yup - mines improved too, back up to 3500+ on the download.

Wht a coincidence, all these Plusnet customers having the same speed issues and them suddenly all dissapearing at the same time... must be a synchronised prank at numerous BT exchanges.

Ditto for me also - and this is what was happening last week. Slow speeds (100 to 300kbps typically) from around 6pm and then suddenly around 10:30pm it jumped straight back up to normal - which for me is about 1800kbps.

Strangely, I was getting normal speeds on Friday evening and all weekend until about 5pm on Sunday.

Im stuck on a sub 512 downstream.

i've used 2.41GB Peak this month. If this is down to any sort of management im going to be mighty pissed off.
BB+ users are being shafted. no doubt about it.

As I happened to be on www.speedtest.net I thought I would check if my speed changed rapidly at midnight, and what do you know

2/6/2007 12:02 AM GMT 3256 kb/s 382 kb/s 46 ms London ~ 200 mi
2/6/2007 12:01 AM GMT 1934 kb/s 381 kb/s 51 ms London ~ 200 mi
2/5/2007 11:59 PM GMT 505 kb/s 232 kb/s 51 ms London ~ 200 mi
2/5/2007 11:57 PM GMT 543 kb/s 217 kb/s 45 ms London ~ 200 mi

Three minutes to go from 505 to 3256

Raised a question,& they do admit that there are customers who are getting speeds below expected levels...

Quote
We do have a number of customers now where we have proved that the issue does lie within our control and there are a number of light-usage customers on Broadband Plus receiving slower speeds than we would expect. With that in mind our network engineers will continue to investigate the reports of slow speeds during peak for light-usage Broadband Plus customers and will provide further details in due course.

Im happy they have admitted it, i too got a reply to my ticket stating virtually the same thing.
Unfortunately, the speed at which the matter is being dealt with is not satisfactory at all.
The last two days i was getting around the 512 mark during peak hours...i thought that PN might be heading in the right direction.
Today im back to this:
Download Speed: 128 kbps (16 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 55 kbps (6.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Not only am i now unable to access my e-mail's (hotmail) it's affecting gaming as well as not enough data is getting through.

For a company thats "2 years ahead of the competition" it's a very poor show indeed.
BB+ is unusable for anything it is advertised to be perfect for.

How much longer is this going to take to sort out PN?
