exchange red should have been fixed 27 Apr 06 but still slow

Quote
Virtual paths: Red

BT is reporting that some of the virtual paths at this exchange are not operating within BT Wholesale's planning guidance, although they are still operating within the product specification.

At busy times, your ADSL connection may operate at a reduced speed, although not all customers on your exchange may be affected. You should only contact support if there is no current ETA date set.

The ETA fix time is: 27 Apr 06

Record last updated: 10 Apr 06

so when should it be fixed plusnet ?

Hi there

Unfortunately that information is provided by BT and is an estimate.

Ultimately it is up to BT to fix the exchange, not Plus Net, and from past experience, BT will do it in their own sweet time.

Your High-speed Broadband Service

Your current broadband speed is 2000 Kbps

What does this speed mean?
This is the speed that the network supplier is telling us you should expect on your line. If your hardware is reporting higher speeds, you can try and automatically update this speed by disconnecting and reconnecting once a day for 3 days.

I've been on MAX DSL since Saturday (as far as i'm aware )i know i should give it 10 days though my modem has always said connected at 7.2mb or greater yet all speed test show i'm running at around half a mb and belive me it is that speed or slower Sad

as for disconnecting and reconnecting I don't get much choice in that as it disconnects on it's own quite regularly

Until that changes from 2000 your speed will be artificially held back. There are some problems being investigated by BT/Plusnet which could mean it's a little while before that changes.

You should however be able to get speeds approaching 2000.
