email question

On all the status reports on the ongoing problems with email, apologies are made for delays of incoming mail, is outgoing mail also affected? I sent something yesterday early evening & it arrived at it's destination at 9.15am today.

email question

If you can get hold of the headers from the delayed email and stick them in to this tool it should tell you where the delay occurred.

email question

The first thing you need to do is to ask the recipient to forward the email back to you as an attachment - you can't see the headers in your "Sent mail" copy.

email question

James, Outlook 2003, Jelv thanks but it's really not that important I was just curious as to why delays with incoming mail is mentioned & not outgoing, if delays are occuring both ways it would be useful for Plusnet to say as I can then use Hotmail or Yahoo.

email question

Hi Christine,

As Jelv says, if you forward the email back to yourself, you can then right click on it and select "Options".

This should then show you the headers in the box at the bottom.

email question

Sorry to hijack the thread Sad

I've been experiencing the same problem using plusnet webmail.

Recently i've only been effected by receiving emails late, sometimes 5+ hours late.

For the last few days i've been trying to send emails to an hotmail address, its worked fine for ages, now they are not receiving ANY of my emails.

I've sent an email using my work account to the hotmail address it goes through fine, so i think the problems with my plusnet account.

email question

Are you still receiving email into your PlusNet account?

email question

I can receive emails form the particular hotmail account fine, no delays. I'm receiving all emails ok at the moment.

I've sent an email to my work address using my plusnet webmail, and that came through ok too.

It just seems i can't send to this hotmail address using my plusnet account.

And like i say, they haven't received them at all. It was working fine a few days ago.

I've even asked them to check there spam folder, just incase they are going in there.

email question

Are there other hotmail addresses that you could try sending to, to see if it is a generic problem against hotmail?

email question

I've sent an email to another hotamil account, that was at 12:33pm, and they haven't received it yet.

Is there anyway to check the link with the hotmail address?

email question

How did you establish where the delay was and against whom you should make the complaint?
