I use dc++ to access a private hub. Since boxing day I havent been able to reach it. The hub is active and working fine but i get 'host unreachable' - i cant even ping it.

has plusnet changed anything that could have caused this?

cheers

dc++?

Hi,

Can you post a tracert/MTR to the server, might indicate where the problem is occuring.

Were you able to ping it before the problem started?

Have you tried rebooting your PC and router/modem?

tried most of that - literally nothing has changed as far as I am aware.

what method would you suggest for pinging the host?

Start>Run>cmd (or command if win9Cool

you should be presented a dos prompt type

ping whatever.the.ip/host.is

and is the server definitely up atm, maybe you should get someone else to ping it

you could use an online ping/tracert tool like http://noc.nekesc.org/nqt.php (just googled so dont know about reliablity)

Why not just add the IP to permenant allows? no need to uninstall. I have had strange blocks on PG2 - I am sure the IP ranges are a little over cautious.
