cant connect

I tried about 50 times to connect to the 0808 9933000 number but it wont go through. I have had to use POBox a pay provider to get on. What is going on ?

Hi Ben

I have excactly the same problem!!! Tried over 30 times to connect to the lite dial up number, no luck, but managed to get on twice with the local rate number :-(

Hi,

Unfortunately there are some serious connectivity issues this evening and as such, I as well as many other users are having great difficulty connecting to the 0808 connections numbers.

Please refer to the Service Status section for regularly updated information. I have posted the most recent statement below.

I am sure PlusNet are doing their utmost to ensure full service as soon as possible.

Dear Customer,

Here I will provide a more in depth explanation of the problem we are experiencing.

We have 3 routers, known as home gateways, in our network room. These routers are provided and maintained by BT as part of our service agreement with them. We have a problem with one of these routers which means that we are currently running at 2/3rds of dial in capacity.

This means that most of our customers are able to connect but a large number of customers will be experiencing difficutly.

We have also experiences a short but total break in connectivity as we rebooted our core router in an effort to resolve the problem.

We are still on a conference call to engineers at BT in order to resolve the problem.

Please also note that our customer support department are currently handling a large volume of calls, this will result in a significant delay if you are attempting to speak to an advisor.

Once again allow me to apologise on behalf of the company for any inconvenience you are experiencing.

Apologies for the lack of updates but I have been busy this evening.

I have now updated service status again to reflect the current situation.

Thanks for the update to the posting.

I am sure everyone at PlusNet will be doing whatever possible to ensure that problems like this are not repeated in the near future.

As I mentioned before it appears that BtOpenworld have been experiencing serious connectivity issues today, I assume these cannot be related in anyway?

Hi there,

I've been experiencing the same problem all evening. It seems to come and go, like a radio not quite on the right signal. Sometimes I can get on, other times I can't, and strangely enough, even the portal seems to be affected.

I'm using a different ISP to surf at the moment (ntlworld - got fed up trying PlusNet earlier), and sometimes I can get on to the portal, and other times I can't (Connection Times Out messages).

Any idea when the problem will be cleared up, because it's still happening intermittently?

Even the portal seems to be suffering, with constant Connection Time Outs. Surprisingly this is happening even though I'm using cable (ntlworld) and not BT.

I'll rephrase that, just in case anyone thinks I'm being silly and trying to connect to PlusNet over a non-BT line. Smiley~

I've been using ntlworld as a backup ISP for most of the evening, due to the connectivity problems we've been having on PlusNet.
