Hello,

I am having a bit of trouble with my broadband speed. I was getting a fairly consistent:

29-04-2007 20:54:10 5230
24-03-2007 11:28:37 5198.2
16-03-2007 06:55:29 4950.6
15-03-2007 23:18:15 3924.9
15-03-2007 23:17:56 4084.9
15-03-2007 23:17:32 4716.9
for the last week I have been getting 1840 kbps

I then had a fault with my telephone line and an engineer came out to my house and replaced some cabling. I then found I had only a 1 meg connection speed for a couple of days.

now it's up at :

Your High-speed Broadband Service

Your current broadband speed is 2500 Kbps.

will this continue to increase back to expected levels?

Hopefully yes. Sounds like the line problem caused a slower sync speed which causes BT to reduce your profile data rate (the last figure you posted) it then takes 3 -> 5 days for the speed to return to match your sync speed.

Nothing you can do except hope you don't resync at a lower speed again and the whole 5 day process starts again :x

Hi there,

At about 6pm on the 18th, your router resynced with the exchange at 2848Kbps, which meant that BT assigned you a profile of 2500Kbps. However, you have been syncing at 7392Kbps since and as such, BT now have you on a profile of 6500Kbps.

You may need to reboot your hardware for the changes to become visible to you.
