Wow !
never have I seen this page before, there doesn't seem to be a link to it from the main " log in status " page.

now I have my SNR and line attenuation stats,
and here they are:

SNR Margin 25.3 31.0 dB
Line Attenuation 13.6 7.5 dB
Errored Seconds 0 0
Loss of Signal 0 0
Loss of Frame 0 0
CRC Errors 0 0
Data Rate 2272 288 kbps
Latency FAST FAST

may I ask while I'm here-------are these figures good enough for 2mb speeds?

Could someone please confirm that http://192.168.1.2/doc/admin.htm is indeed for the binatone 500 broadband modem and NOT for the router?

If so I'll add it to the list on this page

binatone 500 modem - access to the advanced feature screen

hi kittz,
I have the modem and it seems to be showing stats for that.

thanks for the tips Cool
I have done all the speed tests etc.....

only thing left to try is the mtu tweaking?

but if it is only going to get me another 30kps, it all sounds a bit complcated and I don't think I'll bother.

CS told me it was as much as my line could support and that the speed was acceptable to btw

Hi tomniblock

Try the link

http://www.speedguide.net/

go to tcp/ip analyer on the left and side and and it will give you all the info about mtu rwin etc.

Its a good test improved things for myself and a few friends..

Also the CS bod was talking rubbish, your line can support 2mb it's a 2mb line for heavens sake!

Do a BT speedtest and see what it supports, if it's a problem within BT's network (the slow speeds show on a BT test) not a lot can be done seeing as your speeds are over 400kb/s

If it's within PN's network that is different and you should raise a ticket.

Definatley works go to the link above and hit ADSL status and you get your stats:

SNR Margin 30.2 30.0 dB
Line Attenuation 35.6 18.5 dB
Data Rate 2272 288 kbps

Could anyone hazard a guess as to what I would get with that bearing in mind i'm on 2mb now and also would the speed i could get change with ADSL 2+?
