Mine runs at 300kbps+ during peak times, might be an exchange problem with you too?

at least when i was on 1 meg i was getting consistent 950+ speeds.

This is simply not acceptable.

The BT speedtester works slightly different to other speedtesters in that it only measures the speed between your equipment and the BT Network. A normal speed on the BT Speedtester but slow everywhere else would indicate a problem somewhere within our network, whereas a slow speed on the BT Speedtester would show that it's somewhere within the BT network or exchange side contention of with your own equipment.

If you can give it a try it should help with the identification of the cause.

I have been having problems with speed, and have used the btspeed test, and am getting 1913kbps from this test, yet am only getting between 900-1000kbps from plus net. Is there something up with the plus net servers?
I was getting the same speeds from a 1mg as i am know getting from a 2mg.

Apologies for partially hijacking this thread for my own ends.

I was upgraded to 2mbs yesterday, no problems as such but as I'm a fiddler, I like to test things out.

On the PN speedtest, my speeds vary between 1870 and 1935 kbs, which I believe is quite good. On the BT Speedtester, it's between 1400 and 1500 kbs. How can it be this way round, is all ok do you think?

Are they BT speedtests? If so, it could be a contention issue with your exchange.

What are the speeds like off-peak (between midnight and 7am is a good time to test for this)?
