Zyxel 2602HWL setup help

I've just got this router and can't get it to work :-(

Can anyone offer me any advice please.

I have set it as follows:

Mode: Routing
Encapsulation: PPoA
Mux: VC
VPI: 0
VCI: 38
Username: ********@plusdsl.net
Password: *********

When I do a "Diagnose" I get:

Test ADSL Sync: Pass
Test ADSL (ATM OAM) Loopback Test: Pass
Test PPP/PPoE Server Connection: Fail
Ping Default Gateway: Fail

I have used Belkin, Netgear, Draytek routers before with no problem.

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers

Nick

Zyxel 2602HWL setup help

Thanks for that - I'd not seen it and it never occurred to me to think about PPPoE/PPPoA..

I am currently connected using a Belkin router and it indicates that the connection is PPPoA.

Cheers

Hehe, it is actually a valid suggestion Smiley

Trying a username of anything@startup_domain will see if you can log into the BT end of things. If you can't it is possible that your hardware is faulty if you can log on using alternate equipment.

Zyxel 2602HWL setup help

Just tried anything@startup_domain and it worked Cheesy .

But logging in with my normal username and password still failed. I tried resetting my password from the portal, then changed it back to its normal value. The portal did not confirm that the change was successful or not, it just went back to the change password dialogue. Is this normal?

Cheers

Hi Nick,

Definitely getting password rejections at this end. Can you delete the entire password field and try again?
