Yet another speedtester...

I was getting dropout on SkypeOut to UK and this simulator suggested that my QOS was bad - until I realised that I had it set to Chicago. Even to London it sometimes shows QOS 50%.

I think that it's due to a bad line and a "red" exchange.
Another set of figures to puzzle over!

I just got QoS of 68% on this line, which is a bit unlikely.

Selecting London it usually gives me QOS around 90%. Possibly they are trying to scare us into buying the more advanced tools!

and I thought PAYG is prioritised over the rest of the products.

*sighs* why can't the priority queues be simple to understand...

Ha.. that is a real ball breaker of a question for Plus.net. Honestly think its got to the point they don't understand it either. Lets be honest the Traffic Management system has got so ridiculously complicated it simply too big to document and therefore the information is never going to be made available.

Never understood why they go down this form of Traffic Management. Surely its easier to throttle everyones connection then each and every application and protocol. Should it be there isn't enough bandwidth to give everyone 8MB they knock us all down to 4, 2, 1, 0.5, 0.25 or whatever to maintain usable speeds where everyone gets their fair share.

Right now it does seem unfair that that person streaming video on youtube of some guy doing skateboard tricks gets 8Mb and people trying to download some software patches via FTP get a few KB/sec

QOS is shite, maximum download pause is shite (ran the same test 5 times. very consistent results)

Do any of these things point to why im having such a piss poor gaming experience lately? Pings to my racing server are ok but as soon as i get on it's a lag frenzy.
