Why do all posts change to "read"

When I go into this forum there are a number of threads marked unread.
If I then close the browser reopen it shows all posts read. Its only started doing this since I changed from Norton Internet Security to KIS 2006 beta today.
Anyone any ideas as to what could be causing it.

The unread icons indicate unread threads since your last visit to the forum.... If you close / logout and then revisit the forums, then it will only highlight new posts since your last visit.

Why do all posts change to "read"

Thanks Liam.
I had thought that if I hadn't opened a thread it stayed as marked unread

Update on situation

Back again.
This is most odd.
I am using Firefox 1.0.7 and if I go onto the Plusnet forums the unread threads are in orange. If, without opening them, I go to another site or sites then return to the forum they are still shown as unread. But if I close the browser and then reopen on these forums all posts are shown as read.
Any thoughts on why this happens

I use FF1.0.7 without any problems.
It might depend on how the forums records your session information.
You might want to check your "cookies" settings in FF from Tools -> Options -> Privacy, Cookies. What are you set to?

Why do all posts change to "read"

Cookies are set to allow for the originating web site only and portal.plus.net is set to allow.
Just checked the actual cookies and I have several under portal.plus.net which start phpbb2mysql_ and one PHPSESSID all of which expire at the end of the session (assumed to be when I close the browser.)
Could this be the problem

The cookies could be like a time/date stamp - is the time/date set correctly on you PC?

Why do all posts change to "read"

It's session cookies.
The session expires only when you close the browser, so if you go on the Pn forum, then something else, then return without closing the browser, it will be as though you hadn't gone away.

Well all I can think of is the "brute" force approach.
Log out.
Go back to your cookies option and clean em all out.
Log back in and then mark all forums read.
See if from there on you see a difference in the read/unread.

.. unless anyone else has any suggestions?

Why do all posts change to "read"

I don't think its my cookies but something to do with the way the forum is setting them
I just tried on another machine using IE6 and Norton Internet Security and the same thing happens.
It is as though the forum automatically sets the posts to read when I close the browser
Just tried logging out and then logging in but that doesn't do it.
EDIT - but it did disable autologin so I had to re-enable that

Why do all posts change to "read"

I've just logged in on my main PC for the first time today and most of the threads for the morning are showing as No New Posts.

This wasnt happening first thing this morning on my other computer.
