Why can't I have 2Mbs?

The BT Engineer that did the ISDN to PSTN conversion said that the line would support it, however ask as I might I can't have faster then 1Mbs Cry
My SNR is 19.5 and my loop attenuation is 41.0 according to my router so why won't Plusnet upgrade me?!!!!!!

What does the BT check show as being possible for your phone number.
If it only says 1MB then I suggest you go over to ADSLGuide and contact MrSaffron who appears to be the only person who can sort it out. See this LINK

It is BT that decide if a line will be upgraded or not. One factor that may be stopping the upgrade is what the BT ADSL checker says is the max you line will take. If that states 1Mbs max then that is all BT will allow, however that is often wrong and getting it corrected can be very dificult.

Have you asked PN to perform a woosh test to see what BT think your line stats are, as often routers can be innacurate by 5 or more dB so even though your router states 41dB, the real figure may be higher and thus outside the 43dB limit for 2Mbs.
