What's happened to pte-ag1?

There was an issue last night, but imagine it's now a reporting issue on the graphs.

What's happened to pte-ag1?

It's much more than than that. The level of packet drops on the other three BT gateways is much higher than normal for this time of day.

What's happened to pte-ag1?

We dropped 12,000 sessions at 1am this morning. Hence the lack of bronze drops on PTE-AG1 and the increased drops on the other gateways.

What's happened to pte-ag1?

I've just managed to disconnect/reconnect and get pte-ag1.

Does this mean we are going to see some load balancing during the day?

What's happened to pte-ag1?

Yep, James is right.

Last night at about 1:00am we dropped approximately 12,000 users from one of our ERX's (pte-ag1). Most of these customers were reconnected to one of the other gateways.

After investigation it appears that the drop was due to some maintenance BT underwent. They upgraded the operating system on one of the switches at their faraday site.

For the record this affected other ISPs too. What we will need to do now though is balance the network to make sure users are fairly distributed across the gateways. Change control has been passed and BT are working on this now. Shouldn't be customer affecting however I'll post a Service Status for informative purposes.

Rgds,

What's happened to pte-ag1?

I think Bob means you're connection isn't going to be dropped, rather than stating everything is fine.
