Things are going from bad to worse, as you can see....

I raised a ticket and was told BT find 400kbps acceptable for a 2mb line - well I certainly dont!!

Anyone else having probs....

I am on a clean install of XPSP2, so being told to check for spyware is not an acceptable reason for the above... If this keeps up, think I will be lookin elsewhere!

Hi,

My speed is fine for 2mb:

Have you got Spybot Search & Destroy installed and Adaware Personal?

These are both free programes, I also have XP with SP2 but I still have these programes one and run them once a week. You can never have too much protection!

Give them a go and see what happens, you might be plesently suprised

Got them all done.... I work in IT support, so am pretty clued up when it comes to pc builds etc...

As I mentioned I am using a clean built machine, with little on it apart from the essentials... got all up and running, and connected to net, only to be astonished at my speeds!!

Daz, I don't have the link to hand but have you tried using BT's speedtester - it bypasses PN's network so will help point to which bit of the network is broken.

(Also try disconnecting and reconnecting - it could be a router issue)

Thanks....

Just got a new router, so decided to check that..... all seems to be ok after a config check, and reboot...

Its funny how things can work one minute, than not the next without any rational explanation - but then again, workin in support I should have known better!!!

Cheers

Not certain if this is the problem that you were seeing but when I read this post it reminded me of these issues with pth-ag2

Maybe explain why it resolved itself after the reboot?
