Webmail security: insecure login

I hate sending my password over an unecrypted link. Any chance of at least doing the login over https even if the rest of the session is insecure?

This has already been suggested - see the Webmail: Known issues thread at the beginning of this forum.

Also note ALL mail clients send login & password details in plain text so it is not doing anything different to any other mail client.

Yes. Sorry. I didn't spot Colin's sticky before I posted. Funny - I spotted both of Ians. I wish you guys used the same BB s/w as ADSLGuide. Its so much easier to see and work with.

So because all other email systems send passwords in plain text that makes it OK !!! Actually that's not true - we have a secure webmail system at work. At least give us separate ID's and PW's for insecure mail access.

Standard POP and IMAP is insecure, which is the point Peter was making.

YMMV - but I tend to hate the software thats used on ADSLGuide.
