Webmail issue back in May

Hi,

I've only just read about the webmail problem last month. In their email to customers Plusnet say we should change our passwords - please can you explain (for dummies) how we do this on the router (Netgear ADSL) and on email software used. I think I know how to do it on my Pnet a/c. I'll also need to change a mailbox password I think.

But is this all really necessary and what might happen if we don't?

Thanks, Sarah

Hi there,

We've created some handy guides to help you update your passwords in hardware and mail/FTP clients.

Your password should be changed fairly regularly as a security precaution. Now is a good time to change it taking into account the webmail issue, and the fact that we implemented stronger passwords for further security last month.

You can change your password here.

No worries, should be fairly straightforward with a Netgear but give us a shout if you have problems.
