Wating for MaxDSL forget it.

I applied for the MaxDSL upgrade some 6 weeks ago and still nothing has happened so I raised a support ticket and have finally got a response (took 5 days).

Here is the PN response:

We had been hesitating on this issue for a couple of weeks and I will now reveal why. Our policy on upgrades to DSL Max is now that we're not moving any more customers onto this for the time being, because of ongoing stability issues with customers' connections at the wholesale level. Once our supplier has successfully addressed the stability concerns for our existing customers and can guarantee that upgrading will be worthwhile, we will pick up where we left off with the free upgrades. On balance, you are better off with the connection you have got until further notice. We will be communicating any developments to our customers in due course.

Seems very sensible to me, why upgrade to a service which in most cases is not delivering the expected outcome. Are you having problems with your current package? If not and it is fast and stable then best sit tight until the problems have been addressed.

I agree it is sensible but what annoys me is that I applied 6 weeks ago for MaxDSL and only found this out after raising a support ticket and then it took 5 days to get an answer.

This really seems to be the underlying annoyance for so many people at the moment, despite any number of reassurances from PN staff saying it is getting back to normal. I hope they either do something about it fairly soon or get a new MAC code machine which will be working overtime soon.

Once again PN have let their older customers down why do customers who joined less than a year ago get upgraded when I have a member for 6 years and still waiting. I have put 4 tickets since April 12 with them being closed by CSC.

Is there any chance of an upgrade please? I have raised 4 tickets the first being on 24/4/06 and still no MaxDSL. I'm prepared to take the chance that it won't work, but am reasonably confident it will be ok as I'm fairly close to the exchange and have had various ISP's without any line problems.

Hi,

If you're prepared to take the risk of problem then I'm happy to put a regrade through for you. I should though note that tickets put through the Max opt in page are closed off automatically by the system, the CSC don't actually see them.
