Waiting, waiting, waiting...

We’d bought a new house, so I asked PlusNet to move our connection from the old house to the new one in late November 2005. They sorted everything out and predicted it would be working on 7th of December 2005, the day after we moved into the new house, which suited us fine.

Nothing happened.

We managed to find the bit on PlusNet's website that explains what is happening. I also phoned them. They said BT were having system problems.

We waited.

I phoned.

We waited.

I left messages.

We waited.

It’s now nearly the end of January 2006 and we’re still waiting with a total feeling of impotence, watching the money come off my credit card for a service we can’t use.

I’ve contacted PlusNet fairly regularly, and they’ve regularly given me updates of the form “BT are still having system problems, will check again in a few days to a week” So far as we know they keep contacting BT, but so far nothing.

Is anyone else having problems like this? Any advice on a better strategy?

This is getting extremely frustrating, mainly because the only people we can get to (PlusNet) probably aren’t the people who need chasing (BT).
