Very very slow new ccgi platform

Im having to post this in the feedback section because Plusnet dont seem to be taking a blind bit of notice about all the comments in the cgi forum.

A week or so ago I raised a ticket about the slow response of the ccgi platform. This was responded to with the reply that a fault on the mySQL platform had been cleared and on checking the access times to my forum on the ccgi platform it did seem to be a big faster.

However it is again very slow with a delay of over 30 seconds from clicking the link to the home page opening. Once that has opened then navigation takes ages making it just hopeless and virtually unusable.

I know that PlusNet claim that the ccgi platform is an added feature and as such we shouldn't complain but realy you are not doing yourself any favours by ignoring the large number of complaints that are being posted on the cgi forum.
People are seeking hosting elsewhere and your reputation is being tarnished further.

Please can these problems be cleared up properly once and for all..

Hi John,

Which MySQL server are you using? And is this the same regardless of whether you are accessing pages that use MySQL or not?

I have to admit I haven't looked at the CGI forum for a couple of weeks but will have a gander.

Dave
Thanks for the reply
The my SQL server for my site is "rumpus"

If I call http://ccgi.johnessex.plus.com/ which just brings up a php index page on my site its pretty quick at the moment.

If however I call http://ccgi.johnessex.plus.com/forum/ then its taking an age to load.

They need to take the "traffic managment" off their own sql servers Smiley

My sites the same....30 seconds for a few sql calls....its unusable!!!

Its on Rumpus aswell, and its definatly a sql/rumpus problem. I can run a mysql database at home and call it from my ccgi site and load the page in 1.4 seconds.

I too have been suffering long delays when accessing my http://ccgi.rjmanning.plus.com/gallery pages and database on Rumpus. Although it does seem to have speeded up today.

Yes, yours seems to be fine, but mine http://ccgi.theblisses.plus.com/forum/ is still dreadfully slow. PlusNet (Dave) can you explain what is happening?

Surely this should be posted as a fault under PlusNet's "Service Status"?

Although we have raised this internally now, we have not identified that this is a problem as such.

Once we are aware of a problem that is service affecting we will update Service Status as appropriate.

You may not have not "identified that this is a problem as such"
but your subscribers have and so are the people trying to access that part of my website! Please try contacting http://ccgi.theblisses.plus.com/forum/ and you will see what I mean.
