VPn Connectivity - Falls of a cliff at 4pm?

I work from home and have reasonable connectivity through my firms vpn all day, but at 4pm it becomes unusable and ends up being so slow that the mail client cant even find the servers and crashes.

I am running the £21.99 package and am using an 8mb connection with a Netgear wireless router

I got reasonable speed (is it - iam no expert?)using the speed test without the VPN http://www.speedtest.net/result/82589126.png

I am usin vsgate 5.1

Hiya,

Not something I know enough about to really help you out, other than to suggest that you raise a ticket, which we can then pass through to our Networks Department.

In a word: ellacoya. Blatantly your VPN isn't being classified as gold; and if it is being classified as gold, then the ellacoya is obviously dropping enough packets to slow it right down and make it unstable.

Other people are reporting difficulties with VPN and other encrypted traffic on Ellacoya-enabled (or do I mean disabled?) ISPs.

VPn Connectivity - Falls of a cliff at 4pm?

I had a VPN connection open today from around 11am until about 8pm when it had the first drop of the day. Speed was normal throughout.
