VPN on BBYW option 1

I have read the specs of the new product range. I am thinking of getting my Mum (very light user) moved to the £9.99 package, but my problem is that perhaps 1 or 2 days a year I visit her and work from her house via a VPN.

Is there any way to allow very occasional VPN access with option 1?

Option 1 does allow VPN access although it is rate limited.
512Kbps for remote desktop connections and 128Kbps for other VPN connections.

Oh OK, I suppose I could live with that on the very rare occasions that I need it.
