Usenet Speeds

I am on a Premier 2M account

News groups in the last week or so have slowed considerably.

Yes i can use multiple connections to increase the speed but not back to my previous 238 K per second.

HTTP speeds are still at full speed. it's not contention as the HTTP is fine. also i am in a small village not much traffic at all.

porblem is downloading the avaliable posts come down at about 19 -22K per second thats worse than a modem.

Seems very strange that plus are throttleing news traffic this much as the news servers are on there own network and so don't have to pay for the internet traffic in the same way as p2p.

Actually no it isn't. A 56K modem would be downloading at 4-5KB/s, so unless you mean 22Kbps then it won't be lower than the speed of a "modem" as you so put it.
