Usenet Down Again?

Hi,

Is anyone else having problems with Usenet again or is just me. I have checked the service page but that is saying everything is ok! However I didn't expect the Service Status to be accurate!

Probably posted a notice in the service status on Usnet that it is not working!

Unable to connect to server
Configuration:
Account: Plusnet
Server: usenet.plus.net
Protocol: NNTP
Port: 119

Yes, there have been problems, see service status for more details.

For some reason this has been posted in "other" rather than "usenet" hence you couldn't find it, I only came across it looking into their telephone problem earlier. Wink

As it affected both... you should also note that that message is from 12 days ago, and there's been more recent postings made about Usenet

Usenet Down Again?

There's three people reporting problems with this on Usenet itself. Two in p.s.c-f and one in plusnet.tech.usenet.

Still not working for me. Sad

Tried the usual of rebooting the router but no joy. I think I'll give up with it now.

It's just irritating that the service status say's all fine! It Isnt! :!:

Usenet Down Again?

I've now proved my problem is with the office account.

With my home router set to use my own account I can post and read to usenet.

If I change my home router to log on to ADSL using the office account details I cannot access usenet using the same PC.

Usenet Down Again?

Funny, I was just coming back here to ask barijohn what account type he is on.

Mine are:

Home: Broadband Home Lite
Office: Biz surf

I've been using text groups in the office (mainly plusnet.*) for months without problems until today.

Edit: 01/07/05 09:41 Correct Home account type. It was late, I was tired, I'd been on my way to bed when I thought to try the experiment with swapping accounts. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Usenet Down Again?

This morning I have reconnected the office router using my home login (PlusNet Broadband Home Lite 1Mb) and usenet was accessible. Reconnect using office login (Biz Surf) - it's dead.
